Stress state determination of freight car wheel from rail reaction

The authors consider the deflected mode of the wheel during the freight car wobbling. Modelling a stress-strain state this mode is characterized by a change in the point of application of the rail reaction and the possible appearance of a lateral component of the rail reaction when the wheel flange contacts the rail. The results show a strong effect of the car's influence on the deflected mode of the wheel.

Compliance influence modelling of equipment attachment on natural vibration frequency of car body of city electric train

The author considers the possibility of frequency increasing of natural bending vibrations of the car body of the city electric train due to the compliance of the attachment of the under-car and roof equipment. It is shown that the effective frequency of vertical oscillations of the equipment is less than the frequency of car body vibrations. It is obtained that the optimum frequency for the equipment can be determined using an amplitude ratio at two frequencies of the natural bending car body vibrations.
