On the development of passenger technical stations in Saint-Petersburg junction

The analysis of existing state of development of the passenger trains service devices in the Saint-Petersburg junction is carried out in the paper. The problem of optimising the number and location of the technical stations is considered based on the predictive data of the passenger trains arriving at the junction. Finally, the recommendations for optimal parameters are presented.

On prospective central automatic control over ground city public transport

The requirement of accuracy of schedule fulfilment along with unconditional securing safety is one of the most important aspects of passenger transport control. The paper contains the main principles and ideas of development of the system of central automatic control over ground city public transport. The analytical investigation of the system of automatic traffic control subject to small perturbations is also performed.

On the regulation of the transport system resources

The problem of resources regulation is considered in the paper within the framework of the consumption active control process realized by the transport system management. The specific features of resources regulation is analysed by the example of fuel consumption. The necessity of adaptation of standard values for fuel consumption realized in the process of operative transportation control due to the dynamically changing situation is demonstrated.

On the determination of necessary power of the radiant heating system for keeping the required temperature mode in a typical turnstile hall

The temperature in a typical turnstile hall and the necessary capacity of the radiant heating system for keeping the temperature of +50Ń on the turnstile surfaces for various outside temperature modes are determined in the paper.

On the estimation of the radiation dose of trackmen during track maintenance

The paper studies physical aspects of the gamma and beta irradiation of trackmen by the radioelements present in the railway track. The methods of evaluation of the radiation dose of the trackmen during the track maintenance in spring-summer and summer-autumn periods characterised by absence of atmospheric precipitation are investigated. The paper also contains practical recommendation of trackmen protection against the irradiation.

On the applicability parameters for the processes of artificial stone formation for environmental protection

The physical and chemical properties of the processes of solidification of binding materials (artificial stone formation) are suggested for neutralization of various types of environmental pollution. The negative values of ΔG°298 and low solubility product values of the resulting hydrates and silica gel formation are proposed as the applicability parameters of the processes of artificial stone formation (solidification of binding materials).

On stable control of safe transport production (on railway transport) in emergency

The concept of a Situation Centre of Emergency Control of the joint-stock company “Russian Railways” is proposed in the paper. This could lead to an efficiency enhancement in the transport emergency control system.

On the organisation of the elimination of emergency situations on railway transport

The problem of prevention and elimination of the consequences of emergency situations in the area of radiation and chemical pollution, and oil spill on the railway transport is considered in the paper. The system of control of rescue teams in emergency situations is suggested and the associated aspects of technical equipment are discussed.

On short-term prediction of forest fires in the Nizhny Novgorod region

A simplified mathematical model of low temperature drying of the layer of forest combustible materials for prediction of the degree of forest fire risks is described in the paper. The software realisation basing on the model with application of the parallel MPI technology allowing to predict the possibility of ground fires occurring along the communications lines, roads and railways, is proposed.

On the dynamic hydroelasticity problem for an isolation pad with an elastic ribbed plate

The paper is concerned with a hydroelasticity problem for a hydro-damper of a vehicle. The pressure distribution of fluid located in the gap between the vibrator and stator taken as a simply supported elastic plate stiffened with transverse ribbing, is presented. The amplitude and phase frequency response of the isolation pad is investigated, and the resonant frequencies are determined. Finally, the influence of the stiffening ribbing on the dynamic behaviour of the isolation pad is analysed.

On diagnostics technique for heat exchangers

The problem of heat efficacy evaluation of the operating surface of an autotractor radiator is investigated in the paper. A new method for determination of the state for the radiators heat transfer surface by criterion of heat transfer has been suggested. The service diagnostic complex for technical service and repair of the radiators in condition ATE (Auto Transport Enterprise) has been developed. The results of experimental testing of the radiators are also presented.

On application of probability and statistics methods to random variables effecting the moving workshops for track machines operation

The paper contains description of the main features of the moving workshops for technical maintenance and repairs of the track machines. The method relies on the probability theory and statistics methods and the theory of waiting lines.

On stationary flow lines of the tracking welding

The paper is concerned with a problem of development of stationary flow lines of welding of the tracking into a continuous rail tracking. The application of modern technologies in rails welding will accelerate the process and save manual labour.

The dynamic passport of highways

The paper is concerned with an investigation of producing a dynamic passport for a highway in case of a threeply pavement. The dynamic passport describes all possible ways of dynamic interaction between the car and the highway. It is emphasized that the optimal interaction will take place in the above resonance areas of the highway corresponding to minimal dynamic coefficient 􀀀din and the layers displacements of the highway
