On the estimation of technological stability of the freight terminal operation

The paper is concerned with the issues of estimation of technological stability of the freight terminal operation. The state of technological stability of the terminal operation is defined as a state in which a random change of technology process factors within the corresponding tolerance during the regulated manufacturing environment does not cause a violation of any reliability parameters out of the tolerance limits determined by the reference and technology documentation.

On estimation of the stress-strain state characteristics conformity for bench and service loading of the freight bogie solebar

The estimation of conformity of the stress-strain state (SSS) characteristics of the freight bogie solebar model 18-100 is presented in paper. A comparison between the SSS measured at the bench testing of acoustical-emissive production control of PKB CV MPS Russia and the SSS during service loading is performed. The analysis is based on the finite-element calculations. As a result, it is shown that the bench testing load is within the range of tolerance. Finally, the recommendations for testing loads occurring at the test benching, in particular, in the xlebox unit and review of the fatigue test bench for bogie solebars, are formulated.

On tension modeling in flexible fastening elements of the off-clearance load during the train motion along the curved track section

The paper contains a mathematical model, allowing to determine the tension in the flexible fastening elements of the off-clearance load located with an biased centre of gravity across the freight car with the effects of depression of spring nests of the freight bogie and slope of the carriage underframe towards the load’s centre of gravity.

On the minimization of the angle of attack of the locomotive wheel flanges in narrow curves

A mathematical model of a four-wheel locomotive bogie of series VL80 motion in a narrow curve is considered. The ways of position control of the locomotive bogie in the curve are analyzed within the framework of minimizing the angle of attack of the locomotive wheel flanges.

On the problems of enhancement of efficiency in management of the railways property and realization of investment strategy of the joint-stock company “Russian Railways”

The paper is concerned with the issues of estimation of efficiency of the use of the railways property potential and its compliance with the investment development strategy of the joint-stock company “Russian Railways”. A detailed analysis of the main capital stock structure is presented, including that for separate departments. A necessity of including in the analysis the term of “property capital exchange value” is established.

Modelling of the ecological and economical interaction between the transport and the environment

The analysis of the ecological and economical interaction between the motor transport system of the large metallurgical works and environment during the process of delivery of the finished product to consumers is presented in the paper. The proposed model enables to choose the type of delivery providing the maximal ecological and economical operating efficiency of the logistic delivery system and matching of the interests of the consumers, the metallurgical works and the region of location of the metallurgical works.

On the survivability of the station systems of railway automatics

The problem of survivability estimation for the systems of railway automatics and telemechanics in case of the microprocessor interlocking system. The factors of required and available throughout capacity of the station with refusals of the station objects taken into account are proposed as a criteria of survivability.

On quality control in technical maintenance of system and devices of railway automatics and telemechanics

A factor of quality control in technical maintenance of system and devices of railway automatics and telemechanics (SDRAT) “B”, determined for each of the division of SCB of the joint-stock company “Russian Railways”, is investigated in the paper. A proposed analytical model based on the mathematical tools of theory of design of experiments reveals an influence of the certain factors on the process of technical maintenance and on the factor of quality “B”. The model enables scientific planning of the factor of operation quality of SCB departments and also to control the quality of maintenance of SDRAT.

On the enhancement of energy figures of the system of traction electric supply on the railways by means of energy storage devices

The main types of damage caused by impulse nature of the traction loading on the railways are revealed and the capacitive energy storage devices are proposed in order to reduce the damage amount. The qualitative and quantitative analysis of the various energy supply irregularity figures of the system of traction electric supply on the railways is performed. A review of modern energy storage devices is presented and the most appropriate for the railways are suggested. Finally, a description of the main operative functions of the energy storage devices included in the system of traction electric supply is given.
