The paper is concerned with an extension of the traditional method of emission spectrum analysis for determining the materials quantitative composition. A physico-mathematical model for determining the structural, physical and mechanical properties is proposed. The experimental results for various alloys used in transport are presented. A problem of application of the proposed method of comprehensive material analysis with use of computer-based systems of spectrum analysis.
The paper is concerned with the problem of artificial neural networks (ANN) development. The ambiguity of necessary measure is clearly one of the factors retarding the application of ANN. In the paper the consideration is focussed on double-layered neuron mono-directional networks. Also, a calculation method for necessary measure of the first concealed layer of the considered ANN is presented.
The paper contains general aspects of a simulation model of a railway junction operation and general ideas of estimation of economical efficiency of building the bypass railway junctions along with brief information of theoretical and practical experience on bypass railway junctions. A more detailed treatment of the issue and some practical recommendation should be made, however it would contradict the brief style of the current paper.
In the paper a new concept of automatic system for controlling the mode of electric energy usage on the railway transport is proposed. The development and implementation of such a system should lead to effective control of the electric energy usage mode on railway transport in case of energy and power deficit and should also provide successful performance with minimal damage.

The measures of security are developed and fulfilled in advance with the prediction results for accidents, natural disasters and other emergencies and the analysis of possible consequences and results of scientific investigations taken into account.
The paper is devoted to study of the relation between the number of emergency cases on the railways and various risk factors. A method of modelling of safety level on transport is proposed which may lead to opportune decisions and minimizing the emergency consequences.

The paper is concerned with the analysis of modern technologies of reinforcement for bearing structures by means of new materials on the base of synthetic resins. The main reasons of emergency situations and the necessity of reinforcement are analyzed. As a result of the analysis a conclusion is made that the polymer materials can be applied for restoration and reinforcement of the bearing structures.

The paper is devoted to the generalized method of equilibrium position stability calculation in conservative and non-conservative systems with a finite degree of freedom. The method relies on the formulation of principle of virtual work of second order and the associated concepts of virtual work of second order and the associated generalized forces calculation through virial technique. A refined coefficient of transverse stability is obtained in case of a railcar.
