Failure-Free Operation of Traction Electric Motors of AC Electric Locomotives of Eastern Range with Parallel and Non-Parallel Ventilation

Damages of collector traction motors of alternating current electric locomotives of the Eastern polygon of Russian Railways with different systems of ventilation are analysed. It is established that parallel ventilation of motors provides higher reliability of winding insulation and commutation than non-parallel one.

Necessary and Sufficient Conditions of Rolling of a Rear Wheelset in Radial Mounting and Without Sliding of its Wheels in Curves

As a result of research the necessary condition of rolling in a radial installation of a rear wheel pair of a bogie with a rigid frame is obtained. The impossibility of such rolling in all curves with radii less than 1250 m at the track arrangement according to the existing norms and taper of wheel rolling surface 1/10 is shown. The bogie movement in such curves is carried out only in chordal installation.
