Acoustic-emission approach to determining the survivability of rolling stock parts during fatigue tests

To correctly determine the survivability of rolling stock parts during fatigue tests, it is necessary to accurately determine the moment when the fatigue crack begins to develop. This article is devoted to the acoustic emission method for detecting fatigue cracks at the initial stage of their development. Frequency, time and median filters are applied. The method has been approved in testing the side frames of wheeled bogies of freight cars.

Polynomial codes with detection of any symmetric and asymmetric errors in information vectors

The article studies the special generating polynomials forming polynomial codes with the good indicators of detecting characteristics for the construction of functional control systems of combinational logic circuits. The conditions for the complete detection of symmetric and asymmetric errors in information vectors when using the investigated polynomials to construct a noise-proof code are revealed. The experimental researches with control combinational logic circuits from the LGSynth`89 set using special generating polynomials were conducted.
